U16 Football: Last Monday week, the u16 footballers made the long journey across the gap to play Stratford/Grangecon. This was our final league match before the championship starts. It was a quite week on the field this week for Stratford/Grangecon with neither our Senior team or Junior team in action. Our Junior team are in championship action this Sunday against Eire Og in Larragh at 11.30am, all support to the lads will be very welcome, and we would like to wish them the very best of luck. Unfortunately the senior hurlers were defeated by Kiltegan on Friday evening by a single point.  This was a disappointing result for all the lads and sees them out of the championship. Hard luck lads. There are no senior matches fixed for the coming week. At juvenile level the U 16 footballers lost to Newtown on Monday night, a game there were winning well at half time , so a disappointing result.... 

Overall, it’s been a quiet week on the playing fields. The Senior team are waiting on the result of the Tinahely V Coolkenno Keating Cup game before their next fixture. The Junior West League Final V Baltinglass takes place in Baltinglass on Friday. The Summer Whist Drive was held in The Clubhouse last Monday. Top Score on the night was Rose McKivern. GOLF CLASSIC The Bray Emmet’s golf classic which was held on Thursday last in beautiful weather was a great success. There were over twenty teams participating. U8/U10 Hurling: We would like to thank the teams from Aughrim and St Pat’s who made themselves available to us at short notice last Friday to ensure our blitz went ahead. The Senior team were defeated in the Keating Cup in Avondale V Newtown on Saturday on a scoreline of 2-14 to 2-10.  Junior League V Stratford never took place as no opposition arrived, so focus was switched to Championship, which began V Dunlavin in Donard on Friday.
